So, I find it funny that my nail polish blog’s first post isn’t even about nail polish – it’s actually about a pedicure product from Julep. ”The Best Pedi Prep Ever!” was included in my May Julep Maven box. After just one use this drastically improved the condition of my poor neglected feet. I developed a neuroma (pinched nerve) in the ball of my foot just under two years ago. Because my right foot was in constant pain I pretty much tried to ignore my feet as much as possible. Luckily I had surgery back in January to try and fix the problem (things are looking good).
I was happy when Springtime finally rolled around here in the North-East and I could finally wear some sandals again. However, the long time neglect had left both heels extremely dried and cracked. A few days in sandals and those cracks started to really itch and hurt. When I saw this pedi prep listed in the Julep Maven box for May I was really excited to try it out.
It has a roller applicator – which makes it nice and easy to get the product where you want it. I was concerned that the liquid might be runny and make a mess, but it’s actually thick and sticky so it stays pretty much right where you roll it. You let it sit on the skin for 2-4 minutes (I went with the 4 minutes – I figured my poor feet could use it). Next all you do is take a foot file to the treated skin. Julep also included a file in the Maven box, and I must say it is a nice one. It is longer than other files I have owned before, and has a nice sandpaper surface to it. Afterwards your feet need a really good wash since the treatment leave them a bit on the sticky side. I made the mistake of doing this for the first time in a carpeted room…not doing that again!
After just one use there was a HUGE improvement to the condition of my heels. The cracks were mostly gone! Better yet my feet were left incredibly soft, and stayed soft for the entire week. I waited to use this again until the following weekend, and again saw additional improvement. I have now used it three weekends in a row and my heels are perfectly soft. I am very happy that Julep sent this product out in the Maven boxes – it has helped to solve something that was really starting to annoy me.
The Pedi Prep and file can both be purchased from the Julep site – the Pedi Prep is $20.00, the file is $6.00, or you can purchase both together for $23.00 (although as of this posting the set is going for $20.00). If you become a Maven you get 20% off and free shipping on all your purchases.
If you are interested in becomming a Julep Maven you can sign up here. There is almost always a current promo code that allows you to get your first box for a really low price – the current code is colors4one – with it your first box is only 1 cent! Each box is $20 a month, and usually includes at least two new-release nail colors and an additional beauty product. Julep is really easy to use – you can cancel at any time, skip boxes when you want/need to, or switch your color options every month. I have really enjoyed the program.
Images of the above products are directly from the Julep site because let’s face it, no one wants to see my used file .
